Yeeees, after a forever and a decade, I decided to have mercy on the readers who put Violation of the Sixth Commandment on their alert list at Fanfiction.net and uploaded the latest chapter. It took an eternity to edit this chapter because 1) I kind of procrastinated, BIG TIME, when I couldn't find the inspiration to rewrite the fic; and 2) I didn't know how to chop down a delicious lemon scene, heheh. xD I originally wrote VotSC so it'll become the first YusKei lemon around -- since I couldn't find any at the time I was craving for them 0_o;; -- but I'm not proud of that now, and there is now a decent amount of YusKei smut somewhere in the ficdom.
Now that the fic is posted, I'm still thinking of a way to archive my fics here in LJ -- with proper formatting and all. *taps chin thoughtfully* Any ideas? Like, is this the right way to use tags, and memories -- which I am only so new at? ^^;;
In other news, I've done nothing all day but stalk my fic-author friends of the past. xD I found ukefied -- my Mina-neechan from seven years ago *laughs* -- and added a bunch of people from my CCS-fangirling days. I even made a new friend after meeting ferrywoman -- hi, baneberry! *waves*
( More sentimental crap )

...And that of course is nothing else than my only completed multi-chapter fic in any fandom I wrote for (granted, those were so few): the Yusuke x Keiko (of Yu Yu Hakusho) tearjerker Violation of the Sixth Commandment. Which, by the way, according to Catholic teachings is: "You shall not commit adultery." (I bring that up because I remember that one reviewer back in 2000 argued quite heatedly with me that the commandment I'm referring to is the fifth commandment. That just made me so confused and all riled up because I felt like this person was telling me that the truth I knew since I was seven years old was false, so I rattled off the Ten Commandments as per the Vatican dogma to this person. Only then did that person say that he was Jewish, and hence, the difference in the order of the commandments. Oh, pfft. That should have solved everything to begin with.)
I do remember that reviewer liking the story, even though my title was off. ^.~ Come to think of it, though I quit ficcing in favor of real life back in 2002, I kept my FF.net profile up, just in case people were curious enough to read my stories and would be kind enough to comment. Reviews are a fic writer's reward, after all. So I check it from time to time; I get review notifications and other alerts every once in a while through my my email, which thankfully didn't quite expire. I thought that even though C&C's (that's comments and criticisms) were far and few in between, it still felt really nice to be appreciated. Fanfiction was a fruitful hobby as it was the best training ground any English major can ask for, but I had to leave it before I got sucked wholly into it (meaning: that hobby would turn into addiction). Priorities were shifting, life has to go on, and all that crap. xD
But once in a while I do get nostalgic, so I would find myself running back to my first love. I don't really feel inspired to write new fics anymore, though I still love to read new ones. The more new material I read, though, the more I'm convinced that VotSC has reached an embarrassing popularity among YusukexKeiko fans -- which was a delightful surprise, really, and one I'm very grateful for. I was quite proud of it back when I was in high school, seeing as I have no training in writing short stories and I wasn't at all educated about characterization, and my only references were the fanfics I devoured then. So I tried writing like them, and I thought I did a good job. ( Read more... )

And so a retired, washed-out fic author delurks.
Finally got myself an LJ account -- it's about ten years overdue, haha. With my rekindling interest in fic writing, I may just post new works here, as well as the old ones, which, to my chagrin, are quite... young-sounding. Not that I'm any more mature now that I'm in my mid-twenties, mind you, but still. How I could have posted those works at all is beyond me. ^.~
I'm still addicted to my two favorite couples -- my canon OTP, Yusuke and Keiko (from Yu Yu Hakusho) and my not-so-canon fanon OTP, Eriol and Tomoyo (from Card Captor Sakura). I'm thinking of starting a new site that does more than archive my fanfiction -- like, a fic rec section, a criticism section, and an awards section. Ah, I would have loved to hold a fanfiction awards site. *beams*
It's also been a dream to launch a couples "shrine" to Yusuke and Keiko, since we don't have any of those around (the last great one, ran by Manille and Sharline and located in Geocities, died in about 2002 when Manille became the famous Jenna Mae of Harry Potter fandom). But since I'm too busy offline, and a real fansite needs dedication, the dream has remained what it is. Hehe. Though who knows? If I become addicted inspired enough, I may just buy a domain and space, and get it on. Though I may need a co-webmaster for that. Hmmm. *taps chin thoughtfully*
So anyway, watch out for more news soon! ^-^
